Lot's happening today at WMU. Great workout by the young men this morning. We have some guys that are really understanding what it takes to become stronger and a better athlete. They leave that weight room drenched in sweat because they are working hard. We have others that don't look like they did a thing though. It continues to blow my mind on how a person can workout, not sweat and continue to think that they are doing what they should do. Those of you that don't even need to change your shirt, you need to change your attitude and get after it.
Here at WMU today we don't have a track meet for the boys today but they will get after it in practice and take that one step closer to becoming well-rounded athletes. The boys do have a golf meet at home today vs L-M. I look for a strong showing from our guys lead by freshman Kaleb Hagge. The rest of the team of Zach Davis, Kolt Rossiter, Kash Rossiter, Sam Jennings and WMU football alumn Thayne McElhinney are looking to contribute in a way so that the team can get their first dual win of the year.
We will be having a mock accident today on campus. It is a great reminder around Prom time to make good decisions. We talk about becoming young men of character and making good decisions that won't effect the team. Underage drinking is a poor decision. Underage drinking and driving is even worse. I know that we have some great young men walking the halls of our school and I hope that they can make good decisions and not fall into peer pressure this weekend. Nothing would be worse than having to watch a season because you made poor decisions and got busted, or worse. That being said I hope they all learn something from today. We all know that football players are role models whether they like it or not so they are the leaders of this school. They will be doing the right thing.
Have a great day. It's raining and gloomy out but that doesn't mean it isn't a great day to be a WOLF!
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
