Some news out of the IAHSAA today. We received our new district for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. It is a tough district that features 5 teams that made the playoffs last year. OUr district includes:
Cardinal
Danville
Lynnville-Sully
Montezuma
New London
North Mahaska
Pekin
and us.
It is going to be a tough year and a year for us to see what our athletes are made of. I look forward to the challenge that this presents and hopefully our student-athletes see who we play we can really attack during this improvement season. We have a handful of young men that are coming to lift but not near enough. Since we've restarted after Christmas break and changed our program and agility, core, and speed program we have seen measurable improvement in flexibility, core strength and technique. One thing I would love to see is an improvement in the fuel the athletes put in their body. One thing we always read about is how you have to fuel your body with the right things. You wouldn't put junk fuel into a Ferrari right? You would put premium gasoline in that vehicle. Hopefully we are able to continue our progress with the young men that attend and are able to pick up a few more potential players to improve themselves through weightlifting, speed and agility work as well as flexibility and core.
