Good Friday! Hopefully everyone in Wolves Nation is having a great day. What an amazing day outside. It is going to be close to 80 degrees today. Great day to grab a football and get yourself better. If no football is around, go for a run, walk, do something outside. If you really need something to do you can come clean out my gutters. That is always a treat.
Last night our boys golf team continued their dominance in winning their dual meet with Wapello. Kaleb Hagge added to the trophy case with another night of medalist honors. The rest of the team played well enough to win. I went out and watched them a little bit and saw some good things and some things that looked like I was watching myself play. Keep up the good work boys.
Our track team went to Mt. Pleasant last night for the Denny White relays. They earned a 6th place team finish. They didn't turn in many high place winners but they competed very well on a great night for a track meet.
We had low numbers for lifting this morning and yesterday afternoon. We need to remember that even though the weather is getting nicer out, we can't pick and choose what days we are working out. If we only workout when we feel like it we won't be putting ourselves in a position to be successful. We will continue to be mediocre and not be the best that we can be. For those of you that are continuing to work hard and be dedicated, great job. Those of you that have lost your way come back to us and we will help show you the correct path. We need some of you to rededicate yourselves to the program and realize that the success we had came from hard work, not just showing up. None of those plays we made last year mean anything this year. Those runs, tackles, blocks, throws, none of it matters squat this year. We need to come back and make a name for ourselves as the 2015 Wolves. We don't want to be a flash in the pan success. We want to become a program that is a perennial challenger for the district title.
On that note, if you aren't busy Saturday night there is a benefit for a local family who lost a family member to cancer. It is out at Twin Lakes country club Saturday evening into the night. Come out, bid/buy some great stuff where all the proceeds go towards the family. It is a great cause and should be a great time.
I'll be back at it on Monday. Might have an opportunity to watch some film this weekend. A reminder that hudl works all year round. No need to not watch film. You can always learn something.
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
