We have a big day for WMU athletics today. We have boys competing in the state track competition as well as our boys golf team is competing in the second round to go to state today. I wish nothing but success to both groups. It is a fantastic thing to make it to the peak level of competition for your sport. Whether it is in an individual event at State track, a relay event, a team for golf, or an individual for golf. All of them are impressive and hopefully, I know they will, the boys will rise to the occasion.
State Track football boys competing in Des Moines are Zach Davis (long jump), Garret Baker (200, 4 x 200), alum Keaton Pallister (4 x 200) and Bryce Robison is the alternate for the 4 x 200. Good luck to our distance boys today and Saturday as well.
Our golfers which include Kolt Rossiter, Kash Rossiter, Sam Jennings, Kaleb Hagge, and alum Thayne McElhinney are looking to keep their state run alive. Keep the scores low boys!
Here is some information for a camp at Upper Iowa University. If you are interested. I am not promoting this camp, just letting you know it is out there. Here is the link. If you need help from me with pads or whatever let me know a few days ahead of time so that we can get that taken care of.
Follow the track runners on the iahssa.org site for updates. Nothing will happen until 2:00 today. There won't be any golfing updates but if I hear something I will put it online and you'll get an update.
Congratulations to all the competing athletes today and tomorrow!
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow WE ARE WMU!
