Hello and welcome back the Wolves Nation news. Not much new is going on around here but holy smokes this summer is going quickly. We are past, in my opinion, the half way point with the 4th of July this past weekend. And I find myself today working on football items that need to be finished up and ready to go for when camp starts on August 3rd.
Numbers were as low as they've been this morning at weights. A couple of my "leaders" are not doing what they should be doing. Whether that means in the weight room, or making decisions that are positive for the team. As I talked to the kids about some decisions that were made this weekend by our team it struck me that maybe they aren't invested in this like I thought we were. We've had guys that have been busting their tails for 6-8 months and they make a poor decision and it really goes to show how much someone is really invested into something. As I've written on here before and Coach Klopfenstein and I talked about this morning, you can talk about being good all you want but you have to put in work and really dedicate yourself to becoming better. I can talk about this or that but until it becomes your singular focus in life that you want to be the best, all that talk is just hot air coming out and not improving you.
Baseball starts districts next week. WMU will host all games up to and including the District final. Hopefully our boys are able to make it that long and play at home the entire post season up to that point. Good luck gentlemen.
Hope all of you had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July. Now it is time to dedicate yourself to becoming the best football team you can be.
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
