It should be a gorgeous night for high school football as the highs are in the 70's today and will probably be upper 50's at game time. We are having a slight breeze from the south which is a cross wind on our field.
Lynnville-Sully comes into the game at 7-3 and they defeated District 6 Runner up Pekin 36-34 in the first round game. We come into the game at 10-0 and defeated 4 seed North Linn 38-0. LS has a nice running back that just got over the 1000 yard milestone. He is a quick back that likes to run with some power so we will need to make sure that we tackle fundamentally and low tonight.
Like I was talking to the guys last night, what a great opportunity for our young men. We are sitting at 10-0 for the first time in a long time, district champs, but we aren't done yet. This has been a great season and no one wants to see this end. I think that if we can come out and be physical on the line of scrimmage and play with good leverage there I think that we can do some special things. We will have to make due without Darren Hunter tonight but we have some guys that will step in and do what is needed of them for us to be successful. A reminder that if you can't make it to the game you can listen to it on the radio, KILJ or kilj.com, KCII out of Washington, or our very own Wolvecast. If you are able to make it to the stadium cheer loud and support our young men as they look to push this thing to 11-0 and make the quarterfinals for the first time since 1999.
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
