Good evening Wolves Nation! We have had a great week of practice here in Winfield this week. The athletes have been very business like and had efficient practices. We always tell the guys we want quality not quantity and it's starting to pay off.
We were lucky enough to play very well up front and as a team that we had Darren Hunter named Burlington Hawkeye player of the week after carrying the ball 19 times for 170 yards and 4 TDs. See Thursday's paper for the write up. Darren played very well and his quote was very true, we played well as a team and the line created plenty of running room for him. Great team effort.
Want to give a big shout out to the JV players for a great victory this Monday 36-0 as well as a huge JH boys win tonight 48-0! That is WMU football rolling right now. The coaching staff knew that these morning workouts all summer were going to pay off and they have. All three levels have been physically dominate and competed at a high level. The future looks bright for WMU football.
Don't forget we play at Eldon tomorrow vs Cardinal. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. If you can't make the trip to cheer on the Wolves in person you can always listen to TheWolvecast. Thank you for your continued support.
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
