Sophomore and defending 1A state champion Kaleb Hagge earned medalist honors for the golf team yesterday in the boys' golf meet. Kaleb shot a 74 and won in a playoff. That is awesome for Kaleb and it sounds like he has hit his stroke and looking to continue this season strong. When asked how excited he was about earning medalists Kaleb responded with, "Man, I'm super geeked out that I was able to pull that off and win yesterday. It was really rad." Teammate Kolt Rossiter earn 2nd team all-conference honors shooting an 89 and his younger brother Kash Rossiter earned Honorable-Mention. The WMU Boys Golf team earned Second place in the tournament. Congratulations young men and keep it up!
Now we turn our sights to the oval at Wapello. Our boys track team is competing tonight at the track meet. There is a chance of our young men having a great night tonight. I will be back to talk about those tomorrow.
Support these young men in all sports. At a school our size these guys have to wear many hats and have coaches pulling them in all directions at all times. As a football coach, who would love to work on football all year round, I realize that these kids competing in sports throughout the year is helping them with the hardest thing to coach, competitiveness. Great to see our guys playing 3-4 sports instead of 1-2 sports.
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
