We continued doing HIIT workout today. The boys came in and worked hard at it. It is good to get their blood moving and get some strength as well. It is a different type of training and I think that the boys are enjoying it for awhile. It is something to shake up the routine and keep things fresh. I enjoy it because as a coach you can tell who is a real worker and who thinks that they can go through the motion. It is an awesome sight to see the kids that bust their tails leaving the weight room drenched in sweat after a hard workout. All workouts should be like that.
The coaching staff has worked and put the finishing touches and plans for the summer workout. We will be starting June 1st. If you or know of someone that can't drive to weights be a good person and bring them. Not having a ride is something that is inexcusable for lifting. We are all aiming for the same goal, be a pal and pick up a friend. Who knows? Maybe they'll buy you some breakfast someday.
A reminder to all athletes that summer session will start at 7:00 A.M. Sharp. Doors will be locked at 7:00 A.M. The reason that we are doing that is to try and instill the importance of being involved in something. It isn't a tactic to scare kids or be mean to them, it is to make sure that if they see this as an important part of their life, they make it a priority. It will be a priority for the coaching staff, hopefully the athletes see it as one as well.
