Happy Tuesday Wolves Nation! Busy day for our athletes today. Our boys track goes to Mt. Pleasant for the New London meet and our golfers get a chance to get better with practice tonight after a victory last night against the Columbus Junction Wildcats. Kaleb Hagge earned another medalist with at two-over 38. Wolves also received quality scores from Kolt Rossiter, Sam Jennings, Zach Davis and football alum Thayne McElhinney. The boys have been pretty solid all year in their dual meets. I don't think that they have lost a dual meet to a team in the north division of the SEISC. Pretty awesome.
Track has a meet tonight. It should be great weather for some great times. I look for Bryce Robsion to have a big night after coming back from an injury. Football alum Kyle Davis should have a big night in the throwing events as well.
We maxed out on squats today. I know there were some happy kids leaving that weight room and some kids that weren't so pleased. This comes from hard work and others that are maybe just maxed out. It is good to see that some of our young kids are really getting after it and have improved. If you haven't gone up by 10 pounds in 9 weeks then it is on you. The workout is put together so that you get stronger. The iron never lies on who has worked hard and who hasn't. Just like stopwatches, and film, you can't hide from your preparation. We take tomorrow off and come back on Thursday to finish up our max outs with Hang clean.
The only thing that is worrying me is that we are starting to lose our form and fundamentals when it comes to lifting. Our flexibility is poor in our hips and ankles and so we are not able to move as much iron as we should. All of our athletes possess tight joints and groins and it is causing some mechanical issues in their weight lifting. We will rectify that in the upcoming weeks.
Have a great Tuesday, means it is almost Wednesday. Which means that it is half way through the week which means we are getting closer to the weekend. Big fight this week in boxing. Who do you have winning?
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
