Good Monday Morning! Windy and chilly this time around. What a great weekend. Baseball season is upon us with the Major Leagues playing now on Saturday afternoons and Sunday nights. Perfect way to finish off a weekend with watching baseball.
There was a benefit for a family here in town over the weekend. With the turnout and the amount of money I heard they raised it goes to show you that small town Iowa can really make a difference. There were people that helped donate items for the auction, time to set up and tear down, food, and many other things. It was an overwhelming sight to see the community come out and help a family. It was a good time too. For me it was great to catch up with some guys that I have coached throughout the years and talk memories of football seasons past. It was a blast. A big thank you goes to Sam Jennings and Kolt Rossiter as they helped set up and get all the tables and chairs for the benefit. Two young men doing the right thing to help someone out and volunteering. It is nice to see some of our young people that go out of their way and help out.
There is a golf meet today. Hopefully the guys are able to play in their parkas. It is chilly and windy. They say that wind doesn't effect a well struck ball, I wouldn't know. Good luck to those guys this afternoon.
With all the rain we got over the weekend the field is starting to green up and beginning to look like football a little bit. It will be here before you know it. Have a great start to your work week.
For those before us, those of us now, and those that follow, WE ARE WMU!
